A council member of GIBA (the Guernsey International Business Association), a body which represents the different facets of the Guernsey financial services industry which liaises with local government and regulators, on domestic and international issues relevant to the financial services industry. Co-opted onto the Guernsey Association of Trustees (GAT) committee the industry representative body for fiduciary license holders in Guernsey.
He has sat and contributed to numerous Guernsey and UK Pension Committees: the Guernsey Financial Services Commissions Retirement Annuity Trust Review Committee, the Guernsey Association of Pension Providers (GAPP), the Guernsey Income Tax Pensions Legislation Review group and has been closely involved in the development of pension regulation in Guernsey. Has attended GAPFA (Gibraltar pension industry committee). Chaired the GAPP QROPS sub-Committee and the Code of Practice QROPS Group. Speaks widely on the subject of QROPS, QNUPS and International Pensions. Directly contributing to the drafting of Guernsey pension legislation and has met HMRC pension’s policy and HMT representatives to discuss QROPS. Active in combating pension scams and pension liberation including technical and full committee membership of The Pension Scams Industry Group (PSIG), the UK voluntary body set up to combat pension scams through the publication of good practice in due diligence. Associate member of UK industry body AMPS. Contributed to UK Government working party reviewing effectiveness of advice on DB transfers.
Roger trained with KPMG but soon moved from being an employee to an employer, becoming a Partner in a local firm of accountants with a fiduciary business. In 2004 acquired that business and the Concept Group was born.
Created and had approved Guernsey’s first personal pension multi member 157A scheme in 2006 soon followed by world’s first personal pension multi member QROPS also in 2006, now the template used by all main providers worldwide. Instrumental in the development of QNUPS and both Trust and Contract based pension arrangements.
He is a member of the International Compliance Association and holds the International Diploma in Compliance.
As Deputy Chair of the Pension Scams Industry Group (PSIG), he has provided high calibre support to Margaret Snowdon OBE, Chair of PSIG since its formation in 2014 playing a pivotal role in the development of and updates to PSIG's Industry Code of Good Practice. He represented PSIG on the Pension Scams Action Group (formerly Project Bloom) Strategy and Communication Groups developing highly effective relationships with senior stakeholders within the FCA, the Pensions Regulator, Department for Work & Pensions (DWP), Money & Pensions Service, the National Economic Crime Centre and other member agencies.
In addition, he established and chaired the Pension Scams Industry Group Forum (PSIF), which shares knowledge of schemes and entities of concern across the industry and with both the FCA and the Pensions Regulator to better protect scheme members. PSIF, which now has around 70 member companies, was personally endorsed by Guy Opperman MP during his time as Minister for Pensions and Financial Inclusion.
Tommy has also developed the PSIG responses to various consultations including DWP's Pension Scams: Empowering Trustees and Protecting Members, FCA's Call for Input on the Consumer Investment Markets, Vulnerable Customer Guidance and HM Treasury's Economic Crime Levy consultation.
Our Senior Managers
Rachael joined Concept in May 2022 as an Associate Director where she utilises her trust and company experience for the benefit of clients. Her prior Guernsey experience includes roles as a Senior Legal Manager in the in-house legal team at a large fiduciary firm where she worked for 8 years and as a lawyer in the Business and Trust Law Group at a leading offshore law firm for 6 years.
In December 2019 Rachael became a full member of STEP and she has recently completed her Certificate in Company Direction through the Institute of Directors. Rachael has held a New Zealand legal practicing certificate since October 2016.
Simon is STEP qualified and joined Concept in 2009, prior to which he spent 13 years in the investment services department of a large asset management firm with a strong global presence.
In 2012 Kim joined Concept as Compliance Manager and in March 2019 was appointed as the Money Laundering Compliance Officer (MLCO).
Kim holds Chartered Management Institute Diploma and holds a number of International Compliance Association qualifications.
A crucial aspect of Helen's role involves continuously evaluating, enhancing, and refining processes and procedures within the company. This effort ensures that Concept remains at the forefront of the Pension and Fiduciary market.
He has over 30 years of experience working in IT and Cyber Security globally and has an MBA and an MSc in Computer Science and Cyber Security.
He is responsible for the IT systems and Cyber Security for the organisation.
Our Sales and Marketing Team
Tom is responsible for heading up and overseeing Concept’s Business Development initiatives both in Guernsey and abroad.
A fan of all sports, in his spare time Thomas enjoys socialising with friends and family, getting outside, holidays in the sun, eating out and keeping fit.
Jack joined Concept Group with the desire of beginning a career within the Pension sector. Prior to joining Concept, Jack has 6 years of experience within the Trust & Company industry.
Jack is currently undertaking his STEP qualifications.
As a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Leon actively pursues additional qualifications to elevate his skills and propel his professional growth.
